Björgvin Ingi Ólafsson

Björgvin Ingi Ólafsson is a partner at Deloitte in Iceland with extensive experience in strategy, consulting, and operations. He holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.Sc. in economics from the University of Iceland. Previously, Björgvin Ingi worked as Chief Commercial Officer at Íslandsbanki, Finance Director at Meniga, and as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. At Deloitte, Björgvin has led strategy and operations consulting practice and contributed to developing technology solutions and advisory services for Icelandic and international companies. Björgvin has a special interest in artificial intelligence, language technology, and large language model development. He chaired a ministerial steering committee on developing the language technology roadmap 2.0 (see report) and sits on the board of Almannarómur, a non-profit foundation serving as the center of language technology in Iceland. Björgvin Ingi has worked on various strategic AI-driven projects at Deloitte, including recently for the Government of Iceland where AI-driven scenario analysis was conducted on potential future development of Grindavík (see report).
