About the event

APRÓ is hosting a breakfast meeting on June 18, 2026, from 8:30–10:00 a.m.

AI is now part of daily business operations. But where does your data go when you use GPT, Claude, and other AI solutions?

At this event, we'll cover how the same AI models can be subject to very different processing agreements, data protection, and jurisdiction depending on which approach you choose. We'll discuss the EU Data Boundary, the responsibilities of buyers and service providers, and what companies need to know before adopting new AI solutions.

Agenda

Andri Örvar Baldvinsson, Head of Business Development at APRÓ, and Anna Kristín Agnarsdóttir, a lawyer and consultant at SoftwareOne, will walk through the key considerations around AI use in companies and organizations.

Topics include:

  • What processing agreements are and why they matter

  • Where your data is processed when you use GPT, Claude, and other AI solutions

  • The EU Data Boundary and cross-border data transfers

  • Responsibilities of buyers, service providers, and administrators

  • How changes from Microsoft, AWS, Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic affect Icelandic companies

  • Why a processing agreement signed years ago may not reflect today's situation

  • Questions to ask before adopting an AI solution

We'll welcome discussion and questions from the audience.
The session will be moderated by Dr. Óli Páll Geirsson.
